A Thanksgiving Prayer

Dear God, Lord Heavenly Father in Heaven,

This week we give thanks. We are thankful for everything in our lives. We have been supremely blessed beyond measure, despite the problems, trials, and tribulations in our world, your world. We strive to make ourselves worthy of your graciousness. We praise your creation because in times of trouble we can look at all you have created and see the beauty and intricate details of nature.

We have so much to give thanks for: our health, our family, and friends. Our jobs, our intelligence, our skills, and homes. We give thanks for this food, a feast from the heavens, a cornucopia of nutrition. You have blessed us with so many worldly goods and things that make us happy. You have supplied us with all of our needs. We have an abundance of wants but our needs have been supplied over and over again by you Lord Jesus.

We have been supremely blessed. But we know the true blessing is your graciousness. The idea that you gave your son to die for our sins, so that we might go to Heaven. The best blessing of all is your mercy, the fact that we know we are on our way to Heaven, on your chosen path to Heaven.

On this Thanksgiving, we pray in your name Lord Jesus Christ, son of the Heavenly Father, Amen.

  1. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones.

“Although Thanksgiving comes but once a year, every day should be a day of Thanks. Among all the challenges that we face as people with hearing loss there are certainly brighter moments in every day – moments that deserve to be recorded in our Gratitude Journal.”
