2024 Chicago Bears Season Preview

2024 Chicago Bears Season Preview

It’s time. It’s finally time for the Chicago Bears to put out a quality team that fans can appreciate and be proud of. How did we get here? Well, we’re not going to go into all the details that you’ve been reading about ad nauseum for weeks, months, years, and decades. Let’s simply look ahead.

This year could be one of the most fun seasons in Bears history. Sometimes it’s the ‘building’ that is most enjoyable. “It’s not about the destination, but rather about the journey”.

Can rookie QB Caleb Williams shut out the demons of Bears past? Can HC Matt Eberflus put aside his penchant for blowing games? Can the “Monsters of the Midway” defense maintain a solid unit that not only grabs takeaways but also simply shuts down opposing offenses?

Here’s our week-by-week predictions for the 2024 season, which are really tough to predict. Instead, keep your focus on the season totals, as opponents will rise and fall like the water levels in your sump pump pit after a good midwestern thunderstorm.

SEASON TOTAL: 11- 6

The Chicago Bears will bring this much promise to 2024. Will they execute? Will they finish games, something that has been a major problem over the past few years. Keep in mind that last year’s team finished with a respectable 7-10 record, including at least one blown lead (remember the Denver debacle?, in which Justin Fields and the Bears blew a 28-7 lead late in the 3rd quarter, only to self-destruct and lose 31-28 at Soldier Field?)

Bottom line, Chicago should be a much better team this year, albeit with a rookie quarterback who already has shown more promise than Justin Fields ever did, at least in the passing game. If the Bears win 11 games, this would likely put them in the NFC Playoffs. “Dutch Lion” is predicting Chicago will finish in 2nd Place in the NFC Norris (North) division behind the Detroit Lions (12-5), but ahead of the Green Bay Packers (10-7).

This will likely give the Bears a 6th seed in the Wild Card Round of the NFC Playoffs. The Playoff matchup we have predicted….. the Bears will need to go into a familiar stadium and beat a division rival, the #3 seed Detroit Lions.

You’ll need to read Dutch Lion’s 2024 Pro Football Spectacular (coming soon!) to read how we see that game playing out.

Meanwhile, enjoy the Bears opener today vs the Tennessee Titans. We’ll take the Bears 27-13 today.

Enjoy the season, Bears fans!

  1. I live in Seahawk country so I have to be. I was briefly a Lions fan and then a longtime Packers fan because my family lived in the Detroit and Milwaukee areas when I was growing up. The Seahawks did not exist when we moved to Seattle and they were not very competitive for awhile but when my kids were growing up they became big Seahawks fans and eventually I jumped on their bandwagon.
