Week 12 Recap

Gary’s been throwing darts lately. His Noviembre is muy lousy. Although “The Gut’s” college football selections were nasty, at least he salvaged a solid Sunday with his NFL picks. And then the CFL’s Grey Cup was disappointing as well.

But now it’s time. Thanksgiving is time to step it up. Let’s go Gary!

NCAA Selections last week

Ohio State Buckeyes (-28.5) over Northwestern Wildcats – Final Score: Ohio St. won by 24 points, 31-7. Result: Lost

Cal Bears (-8.5) over Syracuse Orange – Final Score: Syracuse won 33-25. Result: Lost

SMU Mustangs (-18.5) over Boston College Eagles – Final Score: SMU won 38-28. Result: Lost

West Virginia Mountaineers (+2.5) over Baylor Bears – Final Score: Baylor won by 14 points, 49-35. Result: Lost

It’s a big weekend for home underdogs. Let’s dub it “Home Dog Day Afternoon”. We’ve got four home underdogs on their Senior Day, plus a rivalry game out West, and the Fox Big Noon “Game of the Week”.

NCAA Selections

Senior Day: Rutgers Scarlet Knights (+1.5) over Illinois Fighting Illini

Senior Day: Maryland Terrapins (+5.5) over Iowa Hawkeyes

Senior Day: Oklahoma Sooners (+13.5) over Alabama Crimson Tide

Senior Day: Kansas Jayhawks (+2.5) over Colorado Buffaloes

The Battle of L.A.: UCLA Bruins (+4.5) over USC Trojans

Game of the Week: *Indiana Hoosiers (+11.5) over Ohio State Buckeyes * – We believe in Indiana. “Dutch Lion” and I saw the Hoosiers with our own eyes down in Bloomington, Indiana. They are indeed the real deal. Ohio State has some issues with their offensive line. Not only are they struggling at Left Tackle, but now the Center got hurt in practice the other day. Will the Hoosiers win straight-up? We’re not sure. But Gary “The Gut” is confident that they will cover the large 11+ point spread. PICK: Indiana

Gary’s “Pick 6” NFL Selections

Chicago Bears (+3.5) over Minnesota Vikings – Gary was actually ENcouraged by the Bears loss to Green Bay last week. He thinks the offense is going to get better, and believe it or not, the Vikings are barely beating bad teams lately. It’s time for the Bears to snap their four game losing streak with a home victory over a division rival. PICK: Chicago

New York Giants (+5.5) over Tampa Bay Buccaneers – QB Daniel Jones is out. QB Tommy DeVito is in. PICK: New York Giants

Las Vegas Raiders (+6.5) over Denver Broncos – Denver is hot (6-5), but they’re not as good as we think. Vice versa with Vegas (2-8). PICK: Las Vegas

Carolina Panthers (+10.5) over Kansas City Chiefs – Gary doesn’t see a S/U win by the Panthers, but just a cover by the home team. PICK: Carolina

Los Angeles Rams (+2.5) over Philadelphia Eagles – The Eagles have won six straight games. The Rams are at home and dangerous as a home ‘dog. PICK: L.A.

Green Bay Packers (-2.5) over San Francisco 49ers – News just broke that QB Brock Purdy and DE Nick Bosa are out with injuries. PICK: Green Bay
