Gary “The Gut” Goombah’s Week 14 Selections

NCAA Selections – all odds taken from Friday’s Chicago Sun-Times

“Lock of the Week” – Indiana Hoosiers (-28.5) over Purdue Boilermakers – Sure it’s a rivalry game, but Purdue is just plain bad, while IU is dominant. Gary expects Coach Cignetti to run up the score in West Lafayette. PICK: Indiana

Mississippi St. Bulldogs (+7.5) over Ole Miss Rebels – The “Egg Bowl” might strike fear into the favored Rebels, who need to win to keep their CFP chances alive. PICK: Mississippi State

Arizona Wildcats (-1.5) over Arizona State Sun Devils – The “Territorial Cup” should go the ‘Cats way. PICK: Arizona

Michigan Wolverines (+10.5) over Ohio State. Buckeyes – This point spread was 9 or 9.5 points most of the week, but Gary was thrilled this morning when the odds changed, giving the Wolverines another point. Now up to 10.5, we wouldn’t be shocked if Michigan pulled off their fifth straight win over the Buckeyes. PICK: Michigan

Baylor Bears (-2.5) over Houston Cougars

Texas Tech Red Raiders (-23.5) over West Virginia Mountaineers – TTech is awesome this year, as they finally have a great defense to pair with their explosive offense. WVU is…. not good. PICK: Texas Tech

Oregon Ducks (-6.5) over Washington Huskies – This is an underrated game on the slate this weekend. Now fellow B1G members, these Great Northwest programs have hated each other for years. Oregon is 5-2 in the last 7, and 3-0 in the last 3 at Washington. Keep the streak alive. PICK: Oregon

Gary’s “Lucky Seven” NFL Selections

Philadelphia Eagles (-7) over Chicago Bears – Gary doesn’t give a darn that the “Dutch Lion” loves the Bears. He thinks with his “gut”…. and this week he thinks the Eagles will easily beat Chicago. PICK: Philadelphia

Buffalo Bills (-3.5) over Pittsburgh Steelers – Gary expects the Bills to bounce back from last week’s poor showing at Houston. Plus, that was ten days ago, so the Bills had extra rest. PICK: Buffalo

Cleveland Browns (+5.5) over San Francisco 49ers – Cleveland has one of the best defenses out there, with Myles Garrett simply destroying quarterbacks. PICK: Cleveland

Houston Texans (+4.5) over Indianapolis Colts – Speaking of great defenses, has anyone watched the Texans with Will Anderson and company? Wow, these guys put up 8 or 9 sacks of Josh Allen last week. PICK: Houston to upset the Colts

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5) over Arizona Cardinals – This pick seems way too easy. PICK: Tampa

Denver Broncos (-5.5) over Washington Redskins/Football Team/Commanders – Denver is a really well-coached team and Washington is in disarray. PICK: Denver

New England Patriots (-7.5) over New York Giants on MNF – New England has been surprisingly good this year. We think it proves how excellent Coach Mike Vrabel is. PICK: New England

Gary was able to put together a strong 9-5 showing last week. If he can couple that with another solid Thanksgiving weekend, that would be promising for him to end the season by getting back up to .500 at the least.

Good luck to Gary and to all of you out there, throwing your money away when it could be given to charity. Of course, the “charity” should be given to those of you who have lost all your money by betting on Gary’s selections this year. Therefore, it’s all how you look at it…. right?
